That's "frequently asked questions," not "farmers abhor quiche."
Q: Barnwarming? What kind of party is this?
A: This is a gathering of your best friends and some perfect strangers to dedicate the barn & property to our favorite Bird. We will also be unveiling our plans for the 2023 art project being created in her honor. While we are coming together to celebrate the life and legacy of Flamingo, please don’t call it a memorial. She didn’t want one of those.
Q: Do I need to bring anything? A: Nope. Just bring your fine self! Food, booze, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
Q: Food? What are you serving?
A: There will be a self-serve taco bar: chicken, beef, and a vegan option -plus all the fixin’s. Unless you’re one of those weirdos who doesn’t like tacos, please come hungry.
Q: You had me at open bar. I can’t wait to have an Aperol Spritz! Will you have cans of Heineken Light?
A: We will have a full service bar from 3pm to 7pm, serving beer, wine, champagne, and two signature cocktails (one bourbon based and another vodka based). There may also be tequila because …tacos. And Brad likes tequila. After 7pm, the bartenders will be gone, but the booze will remain -you’ll just have to pour your own drinks.
Q: Do I really need to tell a story?
A: Yes! Your price of admission for this event is to share your favorite story about Bird. If you *really* can’t get up on stage to tell your story, there are several alternatives for you listed here: https://drdennis.wixsite.com/flamingorock/post/stories-of-heather
Q: Will there be actual flamingos there? A: Umm… yes?
Q: What should I wear?
A: The barn is fully insulated and there will be heaters, but plan for chilly weather, and wear layers. As of this moment (5 days before the event) the roll up door has not been installed yet! There is a long sloped gravel driveway leading from Skyline Blvd down to the barn, so choose your footwear appropriately.
Q: Is there a dress code?
A: Arrive fully dressed. You must have something pink. Anything: underwear, scrunchie, fanny pack, shoelaces, etc. Uriah, your Dark Side of the Moon t-shirt doesn’t count this time.
Q: Where should I park? A: There will be a limited number of spaces at 11110 and 11044 Skyline. After 4pm, you can park at the Skyline Grange, located at 11275 NW Skyline Blvd. DO NOT PARK THERE BEFORE 4.
